Traffic congestion has been an issue for a long time at the important Nandanam signal on Anna Salai. To decongest traffic, new traffic arrangements have been announced by the Greater Chennai police and this new arrangement would be on trial for about 10 days.
It is worth mentioning here that vehicles from Venkatnarayana Road going towards Chamiers Road would have to take a left turn at the junction on the Anna Salai and proceed to Teynampet for about 200m and then would have to take a U-turn before Toyota showroom and proceed further. This would have to be followed by the vehicles under the new rule.
Point to be noted is that vehicles from Cenotaph Road going to Teynampet would have to take a left turn at the junction of Anna Salai and proceed to Saidapet for a distance of 250m and then would have to take a U-Turn before the Toyota showroom and proceed further. From Bharathidasan Road, vehicles intending to go to Teynampet would have to take a left turn at the Anna Salai junction and then proceed to Saidapet for about 300m. The vehicles would then have to take a U-turn in front of the Toyota showroom and proceed further.
