The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed that due to the cyclonic format in the lower layers of the atmosphere and due to the phenomenon of thermal convection, there are prospects for rain with lightning and thunder in 11 districts.
The notification released by the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre regarding this mentions:
Due to the cyclonic format in the lower layers of the atmosphere and due to the phenomenon of thermal convection, there are prospects for mild to medium rain with lightning and thunder today (Thursday, 28th April)in 11 districts – Salem, Namakkal, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Ramanathapuram, Thoothukkudi, Kanyakumari, and Thirunelveli and the districts adjacent to the Western Ghat range of hills, and the neighbouring districts of Erode, Karur, and Dindigul
As regards tomorrow (Friday, 29th April), their prospects for mild to medium rains in the districts of Salem, Namakkal, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Ramanathapuram, Thoothukkudi, Kanyakumari, and Thirunelveli and the districts adjacent to the Western Ghat range of hills, and the neighbouring districts of Erode, Karur, and Dindigul
As regards 30th April (Saturday), and 1st May (Sunday), there are prospects for mild to medium rain in the southern Tamil Nadu Districts and the interior northern districts of Tamil Nadu.
As regards 2nd May (Monday), there are prospects of mild to medium rains in 1 or 2 places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikkal.”
As regards Chennai Metro City, the sky will remain partly cloudy for the next 48 hours. A maximum temperature of 37 Degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 28 Degrees Celsius will be recorded.”
No warnings have been issued to fishermen.
