Major attraction in north Chennai, development works etc - Latest details

As many as eighty five parks and twenty eight playgrounds belonging to Chennai city would be developed. This was according to GCC. The development work would be carried out in the large parks like the Mint Flyover Park in Royapuram, Madi Poonga in Ibrahim Street in Royapuram zone etc by the month of October 2022.
Under Singara Chennai 2.0 initiative, development works have begun on 25 parks and 14 playgrounds in Chennai now. Mr. Gagandeep Singh Bedi, GCC Commissioner, mentioned that development work in 60 parks and 14 playgrounds have been taken up under capital work. At an estimated amount of Rs 1.83 crores, development work has started in Madi Poonga.
There would be a children`s play area and many other attractions at the Mint Flyover Park in Royapuram. An amount of Rs 4.25 crores would be spent for this purpose at this Royapuram based park. After completion of the development works, this park would become a major attraction in north Chennai.
Under Singara Chennai 2.0 initiative, 3 parks in Thiruvottiyur zone namely Anna Park in Kathivakkam, MRF Park in WIMCO Nagar and Mayor Shanmuganar Park would be developed at an amount of Rs 1.75crores. Thulasi Nagar and Gokulam Street in Manali would be home for 2 parks.
It is learnt that 8 parks belonging to Madhavaram zone would be developed in Puzhal on the Ambattur-Red Hills Road, Thangal Karai Salai, Padmavathy Nagar, Birla Avenue in Kathirvedu, Sathyamoorthy Avenue Cooperative Society Service Road, Assisi Nagar 9th Street,Padmagiri Nagar and B.P. Nagar etc.
