Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to be in Chennai for a day today (Thursday, 26th May).
The Prime Minister is scheduled to inaugurate several events including the programme at the Chennai Nehru Indoor Stadium, the inauguration of the National Highway Department, and the launching of several projects by the Railways.
For this purpose, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to fly on a private plane from Hyderabad this evening (Thursday, 26th May) and arrive at Chennai at 5.10 PM at the old Airport.
He will then fly by helicopter to reach INS Adyar and will proceed by car to the Nehru Indoor Stadium at 5.45 PM. He will participate in the programmes here until 7.00 PM. During this event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to launch 11 people welfare schemes for Rs. 31400 Crores.
After the completion of this event, he will start at 7.05 PM from the Nehru Indoor Stadium and reach Chennai Airport at 7.35 PM.
From the Airport he will fly by IAF - PPJ Aircraft and will reach Delhi at 10.25 PM.
It is learnt that during this visit by the Prime Minister to Chennai, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister is likely to submit a petition appeal for certain demands of the State Government.
Meanwhile, for this visit of the Prime Minister, 5-layered protection is being arranged to deploy 220000 Police! Drones and unmanned flights are banned.
A stern warning is issued that stringent immediate action will be taken if this ban is violated!
The Police are observing strict monitoring in Chennai Metro City’s important Railway Stations and Bus Termini.
