Is the desire to study engineering courses diminishing in TN?
On Monday, on the first day of the TNEA application process, nearly 18763 applicants registered. It is noteworthy that this time around the number of applicants are less when compared to the last year when on day one of the TNEA application process as many as25611 students got registered.
It is worthy to note that in this year 4199 candidates have made payments towards the registration fee and more than 790 applicants have uploaded their certificates.
The admissions would increase in a day or two and this was according to some officers belonging to the Directorate of Technical Education or DOTE. It is known that just yesterday the plus 2 board exam results were announced in the state. Truth is that now it is too early to say whether the engineering admissions have gone down or not. The amount for registration would increase slowly.
From 22nd June 2022, applications process for admissions to government arts and sciences colleges in TN would start and this was brought out by Mr. Ponmudi, minister for higher education. It must be noted that earlier the government had announced that this process would start on 27th June 2022.
