Pollution Control Board sets up a central control room to monitor the ban on the 1-time-use-and-throw plastic items!

The Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board has set up a Central Control Room’ to monitor the ban on the 1-time-use-and-throw plastic items!

There has been immense harm created by the use of non-biodegradable plastic items polluting the environment, and harming living creatures, especially in the ocean!

The Government has been taking various initiatives to prevent this decay.

In this situation. The 1-time-use-and-throw plastic items which are used in less quantum but cause immense pollution – as such, the Ministry of Environment, Forestry, and climate changes had announced on 1st January 2019 that the manufacture of the one-time-use-and-throw plastic items, import of the same, stock in hand, distribution, sales and usage TO BE BANNED!

Manufacture of Paper-plates with plastic polish, paper cups with a plastic coating, Plastic tea cups, Plastic tumblers, thermocol cups, plastic carry bags of all sizes & shapes, plastic-coated paper carry bags, water bags/packets, and plastic straws are BANNED!

The Pollution Control Board has appealed to ensure that the above items are banned and not in use and public to ensure that these are not manufactured or sold!

Pollution Control Board has further warned that stringent legal action will be taken on activities such as importing the above items, keeping stock, distributing, or selling, the users of these items, sales persons, commercial organisations, and commercial complexes!

In this scenario, Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board has set up a central Control room in Chennai to monitor and ensure that the above-banned plastic items are not being used or sold!
