Balancing both work and kids simultaneously would not be an issue hereafter for the working women!!
The CMDA or Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority has now given its employees a special gift!!
The news is CMDA has provided a new crèche to help its employees who are mostly women. It is known that about 50% of staff belonging to CMDA is women. Soon, it would be possible for the working women of CMDA to balance both work as well as their duties as caregivers.
The creche is known by the name Thalir Agham and it was inaugurated by Mr. S. Muthiswamy, the state housing minister. Yesterday, 11th July 2022 the minister issued appointment orders to 10 drivers including a woman. As per a CMDA spokesperson it was clear that this new crèche would be available for kids below the age of 5 and the guidelines mentioned in the Maternity Act of 2007 have been incorporated. He added that CMDA assessed the requirements of its women employees and then took this important decision of having a crèche.
This crèche would have space to learn, play and rest for the kids below 5years and by this all the requirements of the kid would be met. Parents have played their part in handpicking toys and books for the kids. Both safety as well as quality has been taken into consideration. Sleeping mats, soft foldable furniture plus stoves and utensils are available in the crèche.
It is noteworthy that 2 full time caretakers have been appointed by CMDA for this new crèche. In the future, older kids would also have a place in this crèche. The requirements of the employees would be assessed by the team in-charge. The superb piece of information is that CMDA for the first time has appointed Ms. Indupriya as its driver.
