The Railway Administration has approved to recommence of the services of the Villupuram-Pondicherry passenger train, which had been stopped due to the raging coronavirus pandemic!
Due to the raging coronavirus pandemic, this Villupuram-Pondichery passenger train had been stopped for 2 years! With the extent/impact of the coronavirus pandemic reducing and the relaxation of lockdown regulations in a gradual manner, the services of trains which had been temporarily stopped are being resumed now!
During the first phase of this resumption of train services, the appeal from the public was considered and the superfast express trains which are used after reservation were resumed. Later, unreserved compartments/coaches were added for these trains and resumed! Later, the passenger trains in Chennai Metro City only were resumed!
Villupuram to Pondicherry trains was operating starting from Villupuram at 5.25 AM, 2.25 PM, and 5.45 PM. As this was stopped due to the coronavirus pandemic, considering the appeal from the public, the Southern Railway Administration has ordered the resumption of the passenger trains from Villupuram at 5.45 Am and 5.45 PM!
