Electricity Bills - now to be paid every month for the consumers with smart meters! State Minister explains!

In Saidapet, Chennai Metro City, new transformers have been installed at 140 locations for Rs. 20 Crores.
These transformers were pressed into service as the inaugural function participated by the Minister for Health of the State Government of Tamil Nadu M. Subramanian and the Minster of State for Electricity, Senthil Balaji,
In this inaugural function, Electricity Minister Senthil Balaji shared in his address:
"Since the DMK assumed the government, 2025 new transformers have been installed for Rs. 294 Crores in Chennai Metro City!
Ensuring there is no disruption of power during the rainy seasons, the height of installation of the pillar boxes was raised to 1 metre high!
One of the election promises of payment of electricity bill every month will be implemented shortly!
When installing the smart meters for the residences, no monthly rent will be charged for this change!"
