Know about the development of new solar parks across TN, 50000 electricity connections etc?

The districts such as Thiruvarur, Karur, Nagapattinam, Salem, Chengalpet and Kancheepuram would become home for solar parks in the future.
It was brought out by the electricity minister Mr. V. Senthilbalaji that 6 solar parks would be commissioned in the above said 6 districts belonging to Tamil Nadu. Lands about 3273 acres have already been allotted by the collectors of the respective districts. Tenders would be called for once when the lands are taken over by the electricity officials.
On Wednesday, 27th July 2022, the electricity minister was busy in a review meeting with the senior electricity officials in Chennai. In September a superb scheme to provide 50000 agricultural connections would be introduced. To discuss the various power infrastructure that would be required to provide electricity connections, a review meeting took place yesterday.
There would be improvement in the power supply throughout Tamil Nadu in the next 2 years and for that measures being taken to set up 316 substations were discussed by the electricity minister at the meeting. Lands for these substations have been identified in as many as 233 locations across TN. It is learnt that Mr. Rajesh Lakhoni, Chairman and MD of Tangedco took part in the meeting
