In another 2 months, the National Common Mobility Card that could be used in the MTC buses and in the suburban trains in Chennai would be implemented by CMRL or Chennai Metro Rail Limited.

The Union Ministry for Housing and Urban Affairs was responsible for developing the national common mobility card or NCMC and it was launched in 2019. By this card, seamless travel in metro trains, city buses and suburban trains etc would be allowed. A person would be able to travel easily in metro trains and in the buses with the help of this unique card.

It is worthy to mention here that this single card could be used for tolls, parking spaces fees, banking transactions, retail transactions etc. Point to be noted is that the Union Ministry for Housing and Urban Affairs has suggested that steps must be taken to use this card in the metro trains in India. It is now brought out that there are plans to implement this card in the metro trains in Chennai.

Card is easy to use and safe:

Officials belonging to CMRL have stated that steps are being taken to travel in the metro trains across India with the help of this national common mobility card or NCMC. The card is easier to use plus it is very safe also and cashless transactions could be carried out.

Steps have been taken to introduce this card in the metro trains in Chennai in another 2 months. This card will function just similar to the metro rail smart card. The difference between metro rail smart card and NCMC is that while the former would be used only in the metro trains and in parking in metro stations etc the latter could be used in Chennai city buses and suburban trains etc. The Chennai public can get superb benefits by this.
