With widespread rains all over Tamil Nadu over the past few days, the Indian Meteorological Department(IMD) has estimated that there are prospects for rains today (Saturday, 3rd September) in 8 districts in the State of Tamil Nadu.
In a notification released by the Indian Meteorological Department in this regard, it is mentioned:
"Due to the cyclonic format prevailing over the upper layers of the atmosphere over the North Tamil Nadu and adjacent regions, there are prospects for widespread mild to medium rain with lightning and thunder in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikkal.
There are prospects for heavy rains in the districts of Nilgiri, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Theni, Dindigul, Erode, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, and Thirupathur.
As regards Chennai Metro City, the sky will remain somewhat cloudy over the next 48 hours. There are prospects for mild to medium rain with lightning and thunder in some parts of the city. The maximum temperature will be 34-35 Degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will be 26 Degree Celsius.
