Price of Jasmine flower skyrockets: Rs. 3000/- per kg!!

Due to the persistent rain and arrival of lower quantities, the jasmine flower is being sold at Rs. 3000/- per kg in Madurai!
With persistent heavy rains pouring on one side, the occasion that it is the growing phase of the moon (Valarpirai) forms tomorrow (Wednesday, 7th September) and is an auspicious period thus leading to the increase in the price of jasmine flower!
Jasmine flower was sold at Rs. 2500/- per kg yesterday (Monday, 5th September). Today (Tuesday, 6th September), it is sold at Rs. 3000/- per kg.
There is a similar trend of rising prices for other flowers as well!
Picjippo is sold at Rs. 1500/- per kg. Mullaippoo is sold at Rs. 1000/- per kg. Kanakambaram is sold at Rs. 1000/- per kg, and Sevvanthippoo is sold at Rs. 250/- per kg. Button rose is sold at Rs. 250/- per kg!
As such, the prices of flowers have increased by 3 to 4 times!
The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed us that there are prospects for heavy rains widespread in several districts including Madurai until 8th September. As such, the traders observe that there are prospects for the flower prices to go up even further!!
