Nilgiri Mountain Train services cancelled for the 2nd Successive Day due to heavy rain!

It rained heavily in the Nilgiri District, Kunnur and the neighbourhood areas in the last few days.
There was a landslide on the railway track of the Mettupalayam-Ooty track. Rocks came down on these tracks following the heavy rains.
In this situation, the train started as usual at 7.10 Am from Mettupalayam to Ooty with 140 tourist passengers. When reaching Kallaru Station, the landslide and the rocks falling on the track were noted!
Immediately, the train was stopped at Kallaru Railway Station. Later, the train started to proceed to Mettupalayam. The tourists were heavily disappointed!
Due to the landslide, the Railway administration cancelled the train services Mettupalayam-Ooty and Ooty-Mettupalayam. Mettupalayam and Kunnur Railway Employees went to the landslide spot immediately.
The smaller and bigger rocks on the track were removed with the bursting of bombs. The activity of restoring the track is progressing in full swing! As the repair activities are still in progress, the Railway Administration has announced that the Mountain Train Services are cancelled today as well (Tuesday, 6th September)!
