Free Breakfast Scheme in Government Schools from 15th September!

The State Government of Tamil Nadu has decided to provide breakfast for the students studying from the 1st to the 5th Standards in all the government primary schools on all school working days!
As per this, in the first phase, this free breakfast scheme is set to be implemented in 1545 government schools in Metro Corporations, city corporations and village areas. The State Government of Tamil Nadu has allotted Rs. 33.56 Crores for this. Around 1.14 Lakh boys and girls in schools will benefit from this. This scheme is to be implemented throughout the state gradually!
All schools have been informed by the government that the students entering school in the morning must be provided with hot nutritious food on all school working days. The guidelines for implementing this scheme have also been released.
In this situation, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, M. K. Stalin is launching this scheme of providing free breakfast for primary school students on 15th September (which happens to be the birthday of the former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. N. Annadurai) in Madurai. This scheme is commenced in 26 primary schools in Madurai (under Madurai Corporation) where 4388 students will benefit.
This scheme is to be launched in 14 city and Metro Corporations in 318 schools where 37740 students will benefit!
The scheme would be implemented in 163 schools in 23 city administrations in Tamil Nadu when17427 boys/girls students will benefit!
