The lower-priced pilgrimage fare will include lunch, payment-free special Darshan of the Gods, the temple `Prasadams`, and a handbook containing the details of the temples.
Keeping Chennai, Trichy, and Madurai as the headquarters, pilgrimages to various Vaishnavite Temples are being organized in the Tamil Calendar month of `Purattasi`, considered a sacred month. This was informed by the State Minister for Hindu religious Endowment, Sekhar Babu.
In a notification released in this regard by the minister, it is mentioned:
"During the Tamil Calendar Month of Purattasi, which is considered sacred, special Darshan of the Lords and Goddesses are taken by the devotees on the Saturdays of the month!
Considering this tradition, as per the guidelines by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, M. K. Stalin, it has been planned to organize pilgrimages jointly with the Department of Tourism to the famous Vaishnavite Temples in Tamil Nadu.
During the Assembly session regarding the subsidies required by various departments in 2022-23, it was announced that pilgrimages will be organized covering the visits to famous `AMMAN` temples and the Viashnavite temples in the State of Tamil Nadu.
As implantation of the proposal, a pilgrimage was organized jointly with the Department of Tourism n August to various Amman temples, Thousands of devotees benefited from this!
As such, in continuation, a pilgrimage is now set to be organized to the famous Vaishnavite temples.
Presently, it is planned to keep the districts of Chennai, Trichy, Madurai, and Thanjavur as headquarters to organize the pilgrimage from here to the famous Vaishnavite temples!"
