A delightful news for all train passengers a new feature/facility to be introduced soon in rain!!

The Indian Railway Administration has introduced certain new features in its services to the delight of the passengers and also to encourage digital transactions and the Digital India Advance to facilitate procurement of food items from the various Railway station`s canteens on a digital transaction mode!

In a notification released by the Indian Railways Administration, it is mentioned:

"To encourage the Digital India Efforts, the facility for the passenger to make digital payments has been introduced in 8878 locations throughout India! PoS equipment has been provided to offer the printed details of the food items offered.

Presently, 3081 hand-held PoS equipment have been given to 556 trains. Further, hand-held PoS equipment is to be provided to all regular catering or food-providing companies!

Apart from the above, PoS equipment has been distributed to the catering agencies to save and print all details of the transactions, printed receipts, and the price list of the food items sold and also, to get rid of the complaints received of issue of high-charging by certain food shops.

As such, the Indian Railways have introduced this new E-Catering Services as a part of providing all possible additional facilities to the train passengers!

Train passengers now can book the food items also in advance while reserving the train ticket. Otherwise. The train passengers can also use the Apps, Service Centre, or the internet to reserve the food items required! They may also contact the telephone number 1323 and book.

Presently, these E-Catering Services are available in 310 railway stations, and to 1755 catering service providers and 14 food companies.

This E-Catering Services of Indian Railways is managed by IRCTC (Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Company)!
