Heavy rains on Wednesday night has resulted in the entering of rain water inside the Chengalpet Government Hospital. This has led to hardships for many patients at the hospital.
The patients were shifted immediately to different wards by the hospital authorities and they took measures to drain out the rain water that had seeped inside the hospital.
At the General Hospital in Chengalpet, the casualty ward was an old building located on the ground floor of the hospital. This was mentioned by the Chengalpet Collectorate. It is important to mention here that on Wednesday night heavy rains had led to rainwater seeping through the walls of the ward leading to flooding. The sudden flooding has resulted in the hospital authorities shifting the patients to the nearby wards.
Today morning, the officials belonging to the PWD were busy draining the rainwater from the casualty ward. In the walls where seepage of rainwater was witnessed, the PWD officers began sealing the walls.
