The Ban on starting New Engineering Colleges Continues!

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has extended the ban to start new engineering colleges throughout the country!

AICTE has just issued an order approving the introduction of new branches of speciality with syllabi of different branches on the new developments in the field of technology!

The All India Council for Technical Education has approved the launching of new faculties including Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning.

Earlier, there were 500 engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu. As the admission strength showed an increasing trend of decline, presently, there are only 443 colleges in Tamil Nadu.

A committee was formed in the year 2018headed by the Chief of IITP. V. R. Mohan Reddy imposed a ban on starting new engineering colleges due to the considerable reduction of admissions and decreasing job prospects.

As such, with the present status of diminishing admissions and job opportunities still prevailing, the All India Council for Technical Education has extended the ban on starting new engineering colleges until 2024!
