Amazing News!! Huge number of special buses to be operated from Chennai to various parts of TN!!

To facilitate the public to celebrate the festival of lights or deepavali on 24th October in their native places with their families and friends, the state transport corporations would be operating a total of 16888 buses and this would include as many as 10588 special buses from Chennai and other districts etc in Tamil Nadu.

The transport minister, Mr. S.S. Sivasankar was busy reviewing the preparations for the operations of the special buses with a senior officer at the Secretariat today. He mentioned that a total of 10518 buses including special buses would be operated from Chennai to several parts in TN from 21st to 23rd October 2022 from the 5 bus termini in Chennai. He added that along with the daily services of 2100 buses, 4218 special buses would be operated from Chennai city. He concluded that from other parts of TN as many as 6370 buses would be operated in the 3 days.

It is superb to mention that MTC would operate special link buses from Dr MGR bus terminus at Koyambedu to 4  bus termini from where special buses would operate.

It is learnt that the buses would be operated from as per the segregated routes from the 4 bus termini including Madhavaram (buses bound for Uthukottai via Redhills, Ponneri and Gummidipoondi), K.K. Nagar ( buses bound to Puducherry through ECR) Tambaram MEPZ (buses bound to Thanjavur, Kumbakonam via Tindivanam),Tambaram Railway station (buses bound to Thiruvannamalai, Cuddalore, Chidambaram,Puducherry, Panruti and Neyveli via Tindivanam),Poonamalle terminus ( buses bound to Kancheepuram, Vellore, Arani, Arcot, Thirupathur and Dharmapuri) Koyambedu( buses bound to Nagapattinam, Velankanni, Trichy, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Salem and Coimbatore).

To carry the passengers who have booked their tickets from Tambaram and Perungalathur, the buses leaving Koyambedu bus terminus would reach Urapakkam temporary bus terminus through ORR. This was according to the transport minister.
