In the coming academic year, the government of Tn would be distributing freebies for the school students on time. It is well known that in this year the TN govt distributed the freebies a little late and there were many complaints also regarding that.
There are 10 items that the TN govt would usually distribute to the school students free of cost before the reopening of schools and these are textbooks, notebooks, uniforms, footwear, atlas, crayon, colour pencils, geometry boxes, laptops and woolen sweaters etc.
In this year, the distribution of these items were delayed in the government and in the government aided schools in TN due to delay in procuring the items.
A senior official belonging to the school education department admitted about the delay in distributing the freebies to the school kids. He spoke about how clear instructions have been given to all the authorities concerned to buy these items before March 2023. By this, it would be possible to distribute the freebies to these school kids during the summer vacations well before the reopening of the schools.
Tenders have been floated to buy items like school bags, footwear, colour pencils etc and additional bids would be floated to buy school uniforms and various other items etc.
