Why suddenly there is now a huge increase in many cases after deepavali at various Govt hospitals in Chennai & TN?

Deepavali festival was celebrated with joy and happiness yesterday in TN.

News is that there are 525 burn victims now who are getting treated at several government hospitals in Chennai and in Tamil Nadu. Many have been admitted in the government hospitals like RGGGH, KMC, SMCH, Children`s Hospital in Egmore etc. The health minister Mr. M. Subramanian met these fire burns victims and enquired about their health. He asked about the treatment given to them.

It is true that the burns wards present in these above mentioned Chennai hospitals received many victims after Deepavali festival.  Out of 5 patients, 4 inpatients have been getting treatment for burns at RGGGH, out of 36 patients 11 in-patients are being treated at SMCH, out of 11 children 2 inpatients are being treated at Children`s Hospital in Egmore and out of 17 burns patients 7 inpatients are being treated  at KMCH.

At several medical colleges and hospitals in TN, 345 outpatients and 180 inpatients are getting treated for burns. It is learnt that the burns patients are being monitored closely and all kinds of medical support is now available at the hospitals. Point is that in 2020 242 OP and 92 in-patients were admitted for burns treatment and in 2021 342 OP and 159 in-patients were admitted.
