Passengers suffer in Central station due to auto stand problem

It is a great disturbing sight to see the pathetic conditions of the passengers who arrive from various corners of the country to Central Railway Station. The reason for this the prepaid auto stand which was in proximity of the station was taken over by Metro Rail for its works.  Chennai metro rail, which displaced the prepaid auto stand and put up a barricade on EVR Salai (Poonamallee High Road) 16 days ago, have not offered an alternative space. More than 20 women drivers, all of them widows, continue to be jobless due to the standoff.

Passengers arriving at Central are forced to walk with their luggage to the main road where auto drivers charge exorbitant fares for short distances.

Railways are also least bothered about this.
