Shocking news about the sudden sewage flooding in the south Chennai locality now!!

Some streets in Madipakkam belonging to the southern part of Chennai are already under sewage now overflowing from the choked SWDs and this despite the fact that Chennai city is yet to get heavy rains.
As the situation would worsen the residents here want GCC to take the necessary action as soon as possible. It is really shocking to note that the Third Cross Street and 6th Main Road here has been flooded since last week itself.
It was later explained by an engineer belonging to GCC that the authorities from CMWSSB have been doing underground sewage pipeline and water pipeline work in the area and none of the residents have connected their sewage network with metro water network. He added that the sewage from the houses flowing into the SWD and block in the drains would lead to flooding on the streets. He concluded that the issue of sewage flooding the streets would be rectified soon.
