From Tomorrow, this important work will be done in more than 2000 streets in Chennai!!

Cleaning and dredging works would be carried out in all the 15 GCC or Greater Chennai Corporation zones from tomorrow 1st November and it would go on till 15th of November. The works would be carried out by CMWSSB or Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board. To rectify the issue, the residents of Chennai have been asked to contact the concerned officers belonging to their areas.
Cleaning works would be done in as many as 2106 streets in Chennai and in Thiru Vi Ka Nagar zone in north Chennai cleaning works would be carried out in as many as 238 streets. In the Teynampet zone, cleaning work would be done in 235 streets.
For the sewage cleaning works, as many as283 drilling machines, 162 jetting machines and 57 sewer suction equipment would be available. To discharge large amounts of sewage deposits from pipes and machine inlets etc, 507 sewage machines would be used.
