The film Thalaivaa which has Vijay, Amala Paul and Sathyaraj in the cast was supposed to be released on 9th August but citing law and order problems, this will was not released. The film release is still under postponement. At this juncture, Vijay has requested Tamil Nadu Chief Minister to intervene in this issue and sought it out amicably.

In the statement, Vijay has mentioned, “ Manufacturing pirated DVDs is illegal. I request my fans to inform the police if anyone is indulging in such acts at a stage when the film Thalaivaa is not released in Tamil Nadu.  The state is witnessing a wonderful administration under able guidance of Puratchi Thalaivi Amma.  She has been solving several issues including Cauvery water problem, NLC and helping the poor with cost effective food joints Amma Unavagam, giving laptop to deserving students, free electricity to farmers etc. I always admire her way of function and her approach towards anything.  She is tirelessly working to make Tamil Nadu the ‘numero Uno’ state in the country. When she is helping all in distress, I am confident that Amma would intervene in Thalaivaa problem as well and help us to release the movie soon in TN”.
