Stalin has scheduled a meeting today (Thursday, 17th November) regarding the feasibility of a single valid ticket for all Chennai Metro Transport systems – Suburban Electric Train (Beach- Tambaram-Chengalpattu), MRTS (Mass Rapid Transport System (Beach- Velachery), Chennai Metro Rail; (2 corridors) and the Chennai Metro City Buses!
Lakhs of Chennai Metro City and suburban residents have been availing of the above urban and suburban services (trains and buses) for attending their daily work and various other purposes every day.
There are many possibilities where the citizen uses both the bus and train services from residence to their workplace thus cutting the travel time!
As such, there is a necessity for citizens using more than 1 mode of transport to buy tickets separately at each station or bus stop!
As detailed above, there is now a necessity arisen to explore the possibility of using a single ticket to travel in the Chennai Metro City buses organized by the Chennai Metro City Transport, Metro Rail organized by the Chennai Metro Rail Company, and the suburban trains run by the Southern Railway!
In this scenario, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin has scheduled a meeting with the different transport officials to explore the possibility of the passenger PROCURE A SINGLE TICKET FOR USING ALL THE MODES OF TRANSPORT AVAILABLE in Chennai Metro City!
