Almost 4,340 schools in Tamilnadu are all set to get their own computer labs and specialised computer-based training.under Information and Communication Technology Scheme,The Project cost to Rs 863.66 crore.The Directorate of School Education (DSE) has already invited tenders for the project at the rate of Rs.19.90 lakh per school.
The State Council of Educational Research and Training will be roped in to select the portions of the syllabus, which can be converted into computer-based training including power point presentations, audio-visual lessons and other learning techniques. Once the syllabus is selected, the conversion will be taken up by DSE.
Under the scheme, each school will be provided a lab with 14 computers. Each lab will also have two servers and speakers apart from projector, printer and other equipment.
