Gradual reduction in the NE monsoons in TN

In the last few weeks, NE monsoons have been making their presence felt in Tamil Nadu and this has created many issues for the public. Chennai and delta districts received heavy rains. Paddy fields got submerged under the water is known. Now, rains are present in just few places.

It was revealed by Mr. S. Balachandran, south zone director, Regional  Meteorological Centre, Chennai that there is now low atmospheric circulation along the coastal places in kerala. As a result, moderate rains would be there till 29th November in TN and Puducherry etc. The weather would be cloudy in Chennai for the next 48 hours. The city would receive moderate rains in few places. He hinted that soon the NE monsoons would decrease gradually in Tamil Nadu.

In the last 24 hours, maximum or highest rainfall of 5cm was witnessed in Sengam and in Thandarampattu areas in the state of Tamil Nadu.
