Residents in the apartments in Chennai have revealed their latest demand?

The steep increase in the consumption charges for the common electricity service connections have made many small apartment residents in Chennai scratch their heads in concern!!
These apartment dwellers were shifted from the domestic tariff to the newly created I-D slab during the tariff revision. These residents now want the load reduced for these connections without charges.
According to Mr. P. Viswanathan, convenor of the Chitlapakkam Residents Association Coordination Committee that it was the responsibility of the Tangedo to reduce the contracted load of common service connections without charges in the apartments.
He spoke about how Tangedco did not charge the consumers to transfer the common supply from domestic slab to I-D and it must not levy any charge to reduce the load. Some section officers from Tangedco were not aware of the exact charges for load reduction. According to an assistant engineer from Tangedco it would be between Rs 750 to Rs 1000 based on the load.
