A day etched in memory!! - 18th Anniversary of the Tsunami Day in TN

Nobody would have forgotten that fateful day 26th of December in the year 2004. It is worthy to mention that an earthquake near the Indian Ocean near Sumatra Island in Indonesia triggered a Tsunami. On that day, lots of people lost their precious lives due to the Tsunami.
Today, 26th December 2022, is the 18th anniversary and many people belonging to the coastal districts in TN paid tribute to those victims of Tsunami.
Silent procession was taken by those living along the shoreline from Chennai to Kanniyakumari to the beach. They poured milk into the sea and sprinkled flowers also.
It must be noted that about 6065 people died due to the Tsunami in the Nagapattinam district in TN. There was a massive procesion in this place and fishermen, public, traders etc took part in the procession. At Akkaraipettai, tribute was paid to those who had lost their lives.
Fishermen belonging to places like Thoothukudi, Cuddalore and Kanniyakumari poured milk into the sea and sprinkled flowers etc. Tribute was paid at the mass burial site on the land owned by the Dargah in Nagore. In several places, people lit candles and placed banners and hoardings of those who had passed away in the Tsunami.
