The growth of technology has been tremendous in recent times!!
Facial Recognition Technology or FRT has been introduced at the airports in India by AAI or Airport Authority of India. By this, the waiting time of the passengers would be reduced.
Earlier in this December month, in 3 airports like Varanasi, Delhi and Bengaluru, this FRT was launched in the first phase. By the month of March in 2023, airports in cities like Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune and Varanasi etc would also have this FRT in phase two.
It must be taken into account that the Chennai patrons were shocked regarding why one of the most busiest airports in India, Chennai airport was excluded in both first and second phases.
No decision has been taken yet regarding the introduction of this latest technology at the Chennai airport. This was mentioned by the authorities belonging to the Chennai airport.
They have revealed that they are now focussed fully in the opening of a new terminal at the Chennai airport under Rs 2400 crore project and to make the newly constructed multi-level parking fully functional. Point is that the passengers want this latest FRT to be introduced soon at Chennai airport
