The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed us that there are prospects for heavy rain in the 4 districts of Kanyakumari, Thirunelveli, Thoothukkudi and Thenkasi.
In a notification released by the Director of the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre, Senthamaraikkanna in this regard, it is mentioned:
"A low-pressure zone which prevailed over the Bay of Bengal in the last few days crossed the coast at Sri Lanka`s Thirikonamalai-Mattakkalappu area early morning yesterday (Thursday, 2nd February).
This low-pressure zone is drifting towards the southwest direction towards the Kanyakumari Ocean and the Bay of Mannar. Due to this, there are prospects for heavy rain today (Friday, 3rd February) in a few places in the districts of Kanyakumari, Thirunelveli, Thenkasi, and Thoothukkudi!
There are prospects for mild to medium rain tomorrow (Saturday, 4th February) in 1 or 2 places in the southern districts of the State of Tamil Nadu.
There are prospects for high-speed cyclonic winds at 55 kmph across the southern district coastal areas, Bay of Mannar and Kanyakumari Ocean."
