Huge relief for the Chennaites in 2919 streets now!!

On the behalf of the Chennai Corporation, mosquito eradication work has been carried out in 2919 streets belonging to Chennai.
According to a press release from the Chennai Corporation, to intensify the mosquito eradication activities in Chennai a review meeting was held on 11th February 2023 under the leadership of Chennai Mayor R. Priya. Instructions were issued at the meeting.
It must be noted that on 12th February on a single day alone 250km of rain water drains were sprayed with mosquito repellent. Actions were taken by spreading mosquito eradication fumes over a length of 239km and spraying mosquito repellents along the water bodies for a length of 58.34 kms. In as many as in 2919 streets in Chennai, mosquito eradication fumes were spread using both vehicles and hands. The stagnant water that was present in storm water drains in 16 streets in Chennai was sent to aquifers.
It is worthy to note that as per the instructions from GCC Commissioner Mr. Gagandeep Singh Bedi under the supervision of district deputy commissioners, zonal officers, municipal health officer,chief pest control officer, health officer and zonal welfare assistant officers etc the mosquito eradication works were carried out effectively. This was pointed out in the press release.
