This Valentine`s day, Marrow by DailyRounds, the most preferred learning platform for medical students and practitioners, decided to notch up the matchmaking game with a different intent. As the world celebrates `the day of love`, doctors are looking at furthering the love for their profession with the right study partner.
DailyRounds is used by over 80 percent of the medical community in India for continuous medical education with the goal of realizing better healthcare outcomes. However, the busy schedule of a medical student filled with exams, postings and large syllabus can often leave little room for personal pursuits, including finding love. Finding a solution to this lonely reality, the Will You Marrow Me program was launched three years ago, and has successfully matched over a lakh students till date with their dream study buddy.
The program initiated by DailyRounds, encourages students to connect with like-minded individuals and study together to achieve academic success. By answering a few questions about their study style, students can register for the program and the algorithm will determine the partner that best fits each student.
"It would be great to have someone who is going through the same stages in life as me, going through the same struggles, so I filled out the form & was matched with Vijay. I honestly don`t think I would have cleared the exam if he wasn`t there," says Dr. Mehak Goel, who was matched with Dr. Vijay Vatvani through the program two years ago.
This February, almost 50,000 medical students across the country participated in this program to find a "perfect" partner to study with! And what makes this match making even more unique is the innate gender neutral approach the algorithm takes basis the study style and intensity level to determine a suitable study partner for each one.
"Medical students have no time to date! But on a serious note - they are under a lot of stress. The program makes studying more fun, productive & stress-free, by matching them with study partners who complement their strengths and weaknesses." says Dr. Minu Backer from DailyRounds. "Each year around Valentine`s Day, nearly half a lakh students participate and find a successful match," she added.
The program runs from February 6th to February 14th. A variety of fun events and study partner programmes have been conducted in 75 medical colleges nationwide during this period.
