The RMC or Regional meteorological Centre has informed that till 20th of February the cold foggy conditions would be present across Chennai and TN. The reason for that is due to the cold winds that are blowing from northern states to south. For the last few days, TN has been witnessing dry weather only. It must be noted that cold winds are blowing from the northern states to south through Bay of Bengal. The cold and foggy conditions are present now due to the sea surface being colder.
From midnight till 8am, TN continues to experience heavy snowfall from midnight till 8am in the morning. It is now said that in districts in TN like Thanjavur, Kanniyakumari, Kodaikanal, Nagapattinam, Tirunelveli, Trichy, Ramanathapuram etc plus Puducherry and Karaikal the temperatures would be 3 degrees Celsius below the normal.
Beginning from today till 20th of February, the temperature would be 2 degrees to 3 degrees below the normal and due to that there would be cold fog like conditions in the early morning hours. The patients, senior citizens and early morning walkers must be careful in protecting themselves. There is a chance of early morning fog in Chennai also. It is now brought out that in several districts the temperatures would be 1.5 degrees Celsius lower.
