Mass rapid transit system for Madurai city!!

After CMRL or Chennai Metro Rail Limited has submitted detailed feasibility report or DFR to the TN government about Madurai city, the TN government has asked CMRL to prepare DPR or detailed project report for mass rapid transit system.
It must be recalled that a tender has been floated by CMRL for the preparation of DPR for MRTS construction in the Madurai city.
For a distance of 31km from Thirumangalam to Othakadai, phase one project has been planned. There would be as many as 18 stations between the above mentioned places in Madurai city.
According to a note from CMRL, is was clear that after finalising the agency DPR would be ready in 2.5 months. Point to be noted is that details such as cost break up, station type, implementation strategy, social and economic impact of the project etc would be included.
