A sensational piece of news for the Chennai residents now!!
In the coming days, the TN state govt would be carrying out the beautification work of the stretch between the Kasimedu and Thiruvottriyur Bharati Nagar. It is now said that Chennai would get a new beach getaway by this work.
A feasibility study would be conducted by a senior planner from the CMDA or chennai metropolitan development authority. Point is that he would be visiting the spot for the study. Soon in the future, there would be a change in the face of north Chennai. The entire stretch cannot be converted into a beach and the residents want scientific study to be carried out.
Apart from other emerging beaches, Chennai has 3 main beaches like Marina, Elliots and Thiruvanmiyur etc. It was mentioned by some residents that the stretch between Kasinedu and Thiruvottriyur Bharati Nagar has not been used properly. There is now a need to beautify the stretch and by this the residents would be able to get benefited. This was as per JJ.Ebenezer MLA from RK. Nagar. In the visioning meeting for the third master plan organised by CMDA recently, the request to beautify the above said stretch was made. The meeting also witnessed the presence of Mr. Sekarbabu, CMDA minister and Mr. Andhul Mishra, member, CMDA.
The MLA Ebenezer spoke about how the idea was to create something like Marina Beach in north Chennai. It must be noted that the north Chennai residents need not go anywhere else for walking and jogging etc. Information is that in north Chennai there are also plans to create a walking track, resting spots with benches, childrens play area, gymnasium, yoga centre and food stalls etc just similar to that in the popular Marina Beach.
It was later brought out by Mr. R. Booplan, a social activist from north Chennai that after an initial inspection by CMDA exports from IIT etc must conduct a detailed study. He hinted about the need for a scientific study to be carried out. He concluded that the sea was deep in north Chennai locality and these factors must be considered.
