The news that has come out now is that the Vande Bharat trains between Chennai Central and Coimbatore would stop at 5 places.
It must be recalled that in 2019 the Ministry of Railways launched indigenously manufactured high speed trains called as Vande Bharat or VB express trains. The engine in this train is not alone but is coupled with the train itself. Various important facilities that are available in the VB trains are automatic doors, a/c, GPS, Wi-Fi, audio, video info facilities and vio-toilets etc. It is noteworthy that the coaches for VB trains are being manufactured at ICF in Chennai.
Now, there are as many as 10 VB trains operating across India. The first VB train service was started along the Delhi- Varanasi route and the fifth along the Chennai-Bangalore- Mysore route. Soon, the PM of India Mr. Narendra Modi would launch the Chennai- Coimbatore VB trains.
This VB train would halt in as many as 5 stations like Chennai Central, Katpadi, Salem, Tiruppur and Coimbatore. The travel time from Chennai to Coimbatoire would be from 6 to 6.30hours. It is now brought out that the VB train between Chennai and Coimbatore would be running at speeds between 80kmph and 90kmph.
