The Chennai Meteorological Department has informed that 17 districts of Tamil Nadu are likely to receive heavy rain today (Saturday).
According to the Chennai Meteorological Department, an area where the easterly wind and the westerly wind meet in the lower layers of the tropical cyclone prevailing over the southern parts of India is causing light to moderate rain with thunder, lightning and gusty winds (speed of 30-40 kmph) at a few places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal today (March 25).
Coimbatore, Tirupur, Dindigul, Theni, Dharmapuri, Salem, Kallakurichi, Tiruvannamalai, Tirupattur, Vellore, Nilgiris, Erode, Namakkal, Iranippet, Karur, Tiruchirappalli, and Tenkasi districts have received heavy rain at one or two places.
Tomorrow (March 26), light to moderate rain with thunder, lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) may occur at a few places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal. On 27th and 28th, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal will receive light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at one or two places. On 29th, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal may receive light/moderate rain at one or two places.
Chennai and its suburbs will remain partly cloudy for the next 48 hours. Light/moderate rain with thundershowers may occur at a few places in the city. The maximum temperature will be around 34 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will be around 26 degrees Celsius.
