Chennai Corporation Organizes Special Camps to Facilitate Property Tax Payment

Special camps will be held at 170 locations today and tomorrow for the purpose of paying property tax on behalf of the Chennai Corporation. A press release issued by the Corporation has urged property owners to pay their half-yearly property tax by the 15th of April and October. Those who do so will receive a 5% incentive, up to a maximum of Rs. 5000.
Various methods, such as paying by cheque or credit card, are being promoted to raise awareness amongst property owners. As of April 6th, the first half of the current financial year, 256,662 property owners have received incentives for paying their property tax on time.
In order to encourage more property owners to pay their taxes promptly, the corporation has organized special property tax collection camps on weekends. This initiative is expected to make it easier for a majority of property owners to pay their taxes without any hassle
