150 students (boys and girls) from the state of Tamil Nadu have been selected to participate in a foreign trip. In this regard, the Commissioner of the Department of Education of the State Government of Tamil Nadu has sent a circular to all the District Primary Education Officers. The circular mentions that students who have performed excellently in various activities, such as council activities, book reading, learning intricate arts, sports, and science, will be selected for a foreign tour as well as a tour within the country to important locations. The Minister for School Education has presented subsidies of Rs. 3 Crores for this program.
The objective is for all students studying from the 6th standard to the 9th standard to participate with enthusiasm in the weekly activities organized by all the middle-level and higher secondary government school councils during the current academic year 2022-23. The students must conduct various events/programs such as literature and quiz competition programs, screening of children`s movies, and conducting of `Vanavil` (Rainbow) council!
These competitions have been conducted at the school level, local circle level, and district level, and the winners in these competitions have participated in the state-level competition. As a result, 150 students have been selected for the tour, with 25 students each as winners from six activities to participate in the special tour.
In each activity (six activities), five teachers have been selected, making a total of 30 teachers for the above-selected 150 students. This information must be shared with the parents of the winning students, and their permission must be obtained for tour participation.
The selected teachers and students must visit the Regional Passports office in their respective districts and apply for a passport. The passport must be obtained and sent before 13th April (Thursday, 13th April).
