In June month, the newly constructed bus terminus at Kodambakkam in chennai would be thrown open for the public and it would be inaugurated by the CM of Tamil Nadu Mr. MK. Stalin.
This new bus terminus would be named after former DMK leader and former CM of TN Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi and it would be called as Kalaignar centenary bus terminal.
On Thursday, the announcement regarding the opening of Kilambakkam bus terminus was made by the minister of CMDA Mr Sekar Babu. At a cost of Rs 70 crores, the Ayanancheri-Meenakshipuram road would be widened by CMDA to a width of 60feet for the seamless traffic flow in the area.
To facilitate the operation of mini buses from Kilambakkam bus terminus, CMDA would also establish a private bus halting facility at Varadharajapuram on the ORR and an amount of Rs 29 cr would be spent on this. At a cost of Rs 17 cr, a SWD would be established from the Kelambakkam bus terminus to Urapakkam lake. An amount of Rs 8 crores would be used to build a park on 6 acres of land in the bus terminus. It is well known to us that Kelambakkam bus terminus has been constructed to deginsget traffic in the city.
