Gopalapuram in Chennai soon would have a fantastic boxing stadium!!

By the middle of 2024, the proposed boxing stadium in Gopalapuram would be completed.This piece of news would surely make many boxing enthusiasts jump in joy. Not only boxing would be given huge importance in Chennai but also other sports like basketball, cricket, badminton, athletics etc also in the forthcoming months. An amount of Rs 48 crores would be spent for this.
The design of the boxing stadium has been completed and this was revealed by Mr. Meghanatha Reddy, member secretary of SDAT. This stadium could accommodate 1000 people at a time.
It is now said that just one third of the Gopalapuram ground would be used for boxing and the remaining would be used for cricket facilities. Boxing would be preferred by many soon and this would be due to the upcoming facility in Gopalapuram. This was as per SDAT boxing coach Mr. S. Chalapathi. It must be recalled that the CMDA minister recently announced many sports infrastructural development projects in Chennai city.
Indoor badminton as well as basketball stadium would be coming up on the Mylapore based corporation ground in Mundakanniamman Koil Street. Information is that the playground in kottur Erikarai would be upgraded with a running track, gym etc. The T. Nagar based Somasundaram ground would also get a facelift and cricket practice facilities etc, place for yoga, walking and running tracks.
There would be indoor and outdoor sports facilities in the Shenoy Nagar based 4.5 acre corporation ground. Gallery and modern facilities at a playground at Vyasarpadi would be superb for many youngsters.
