Railways Announces Summer Special Trains for Thiruvananthapuram - Chennai Egmore Route

In anticipation of the increased passenger traffic during the summer season, Indian Railways has announced the operation of Summer Special Trains between Thiruvananthapuram and Chennai Egmore via Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode, and Salem.
According to the schedule released by the railways, Train No.06044 Thiruvananthapuram - Chennai Egmore Special Train will depart from Thiruvananthapuram at 19.40 hrs on Wednesdays from May 3, 2023, to June 28, 2023, and will reach Chennai Egmore at 12.45 hrs the next day. Similarly, Train No.06043 Chennai Egmore - Thiruvananthapuram Special Train will leave Chennai Egmore at 14.25 hrs on Thursdays from May 4, 2023, to June 29, 2023, and will arrive in Thiruvananthapuram at 06.45 hrs the following day.
The trains will have a composition of AC 2-tier, AC 3-tier, AC 3-tier Economy, Sleeper Class, General Second Class, and Luggage-cum-Brake Van Coaches. The special trains will make stoppages at Kollam, Chengannur, Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, Aluva, Thrissur, Palakkad, Coimbatore Jn, Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Jolarpettai, Katpadi, and Arakkonam stations. Train No.06044 Thiruvananthapuram — Chennai Egmore Special Train will additionally stop at Perambur station.
Passengers traveling through Salem division should take note of the following timings at railway stations:
- Train No.06044 Thiruvananthapuram - Chennai Egmore Special Train: Coimbatore Jn - 04.12 / 04.15 hrs; Tiruppur - 05.03 / 05.05 hrs; Erode - 05.50 / 06.00 hrs; Salem - 06.52 / 06.55 hrs.
- Train No.06043 Chennai Egmore - Thiruvananthapuram Special Train: Salem - 19.22 / 19.25 hrs; Erode - 20.20 / 20.30 hrs; Tiruppur - 21.13 / 21.15 hrs; Coimbatore - 22.12 / 22.15 hrs.
Passengers are advised to book their tickets early and follow all the COVID-19 safety protocols while traveling.
