The chief election officer of Tamil Nadu, Sathyapradha Sahu has mentioned now that those names that appear in more than one place in the voters list would be removed. From May month onwards, the field work for this would begin.
Every year, election roll revision is being done in Tamil Nadu. In the election roll revision, the names of those persons who have passed away and persons whose names appear more than once are removed. Likewise, names of those persons who have moved from one place to another are being removed from one place and added in another place. Inspite of all these, the names of the voters doesn`t get included in the voters list for every election in TN. Information collected is that the presence of a single voter name at many places is still continuing.
The election commision has been taking several steps to solve these issues and correct the voters list. It was brought out by the chief election officer of TN Sathyapradha Sahu that by identifying the voters based on their photographs and with the help of software support, it is being ensured that the voters name is present in one place only. It is now said that the polling officers would conduct field inspections asking the voters regarding which place their names must be present. Voters` names in other places would be removed.
Here concluded that many field officers are teachers who are now busy in exam based work. These teachers would begin the field work in the month of May.
