A step towards creating nursing professionals!!
The central govt has given its approval for the TN govt to start 11 new nursing colleges in the state. This was confirmed by the health minister Mr. M. Subramanian.
These new nursing colleges would come up alongside the state run medical colleges and each of the nursing colleges would get Rs 10 crores and offer 100 UG nursing seats. There are 6 govt nursing colleges in TN now.
It is worthy to note that the TN govt has sought permission from the Centre to start atleast 30 new colleges one each for all govt medical colleges. One hundred and fifty seven colleges have been given approval across India and 27 would be set up in UP, 23 in Rajasthan, 14 in MP, 11 in TN and 11 in West Bengal. The upcoming nursing colleges in TN would produce atleast 1100 more nurses every year.
