One of the most attractive locations drawing visitors during the summer season in Kodaikanal is the Rose Garden, among the various favourite tourist spots.
The Department of Horticulture maintains this Rose Garden located in the Kodaikanal Observatory area, where a wide variety of roses are grown and maintained.
Covering an area of 10 acres, the Rose Garden boasts 1500 varieties of 16,000 rose plants, which are regularly maintained by the staff.

As the summer season begins in May, it is a traditional sight to see roses of various colours blooming in the garden, including red, pink, yellow, white, purple, and other colours, presenting a wonderful sight.
