Chithirai Chariot festival at Chennai Triplicane Lord Parthasarathy Temple tomorrow!

The Tamil calendar month of Chithirai commenced with the Chariot Festival at the Lord Sri Parthasarathy temple in Chennai`s metro city Triplicane on May 4th, with the Divine Flag-Hoisting Ceremony. The Chithirai Festival will be celebrated for ten days, until May 13th.

Every day, the idol of Lord Parthasarathy on different carriages offers blessings to devotees on Dharmathi Peetam, on the carriage of Punnai Tree, Sesha Vahanam (Carriage of snake), Paramapadhadhasan Thirukkolam, Simaha Vahanam (Carriage of a lion), Surya Prabhai (Sun), and Chandra Prabhai (Moon).

On May 6th, Lord Parthasarathy`s idol appeared on the carriage of Garuda, and Gopuravasal Dharisanam was offered. The Lord Parthasarathy appeared on Ekantha Sevai and the carriage of Hamsa (Swan).

Yesterday, on Monday, May 8th, at 5:30 AM, the Pallakku Nachiyar Thirukkolam event was performed. At 8:30 PM, the Lord`s idol was carried on the carriage of Hanumantha (Lord Hanuman) in a procession.

The most important event of the Chithirai Festival, the Chariot Procession, is scheduled for tomorrow, May 10th. The idol of Lord Parthasarathy will appear for Darshan at 5:00 AM, and the chariot procession is set to commence at 7:00 AM.

The temple administration has been making all necessary arrangements for this grand festival.

The event of Aalum Pallakku Theerthavari is scheduled for 6:15 AM on May 12th, and at 8:15 PM on the same day, the event of Kannadi Pallakku is scheduled.
