The officials have hinted that the bus terminus would be shifted after the building of 100 bus bays in Varadharajapuram. In the near future, a final decision would be taken regarding this.
The location for building the new private bus terminus would be just 7km away from the bus terminus at Kilambakkam. Today, the CMDA minister Mr. PK. Sekar Babu would be inspecting the 5 acre land site to ascertain the possibility of constructing the new private bus terminus there. Once the new private bus terminal comes up at Varadharajapuram, then there would be amazing commercial development in this place in south Chennai. At this new private bus terminus, more than 100 buses could be accommodated and the passengers would be able to board the private bus from here easily. Point is that the residents have demanded the development of civic infrastructure
Ahead of the construction of bus bays, many encroachments on the 50m land on the ORR would be removed. There are many commercial establishments present in the land that have been identified for the private bus terminus at Varadharajapuram. It was mentioned by a resident that access to the ORR from the locality must be improved to ease the traffic congestion.
